Bigfoot believers reckon they may finally have proof that the mythical beast is real after a ‘Sasquatch shadow’ was spotted on Google Earth.
A screenshot of the shadow was shared on the r/Bigfoot Reddit page. The original poster asked: “Possible Squatch?”
They also shared the coordinates where the shadow can be found, which lead to the Uncompahgre National Forest in Colorado, US.
The specific location is deep in a wooded ravine and nowhere near any human settlements, making it prime potential Bigfoot territory.
Using Google Earth’s measuring tool, the Reddit user who found the shadow estimated it to be 7ft4in – meaning it’s very unlikely to be a human.
They wrote in the comments section that the darker areas “line up with shadows of surrounding objects” and that the “subject doesn’t appear in other satellite imagery from different time periods”.
Another person who claimed to live in the area and be very familiar with the woods said they’d been spooked out by them in the past.
They wrote: “There was one section on that loop hike that sometimes gave me the willies in a vague and undefinable way, and at least one other person I know said the same thing about that area.
“I don’t know about the image, but I do know that the Uncompahgre Plateau is big, rugged, and at least POTENTIALLY squatchy.
“It’s surrounded by dry deserty areas, but it’s high elevation with a lot of pine and aspen, and a surprising amount of water. There are lots of elk up there.”
Another local said: “Good find no matter what it is. Too hard to tell, but that’s a squatchy area for sure!”
However, some were not convinced and suggested that the angle of the shadow could be distorting the subject, making whatever it is seem far larger.
Some offered an even more straightforward explanation – “bear”.
Another issue raised was the fact that we can’t actually make out what is making the shadow, although Bigfoot believers would perhaps point to the theory that the beasts are actually “interdimensional beings”.
