Video Moment a Korean Plane Crashes After Leaving the Runway, Catching Fire with 181 People Aboard

A tragic accident occurred on the morning of December 29 at Muan International Airport, located in the south of South Korea. The airplane, carrying 181 people, including 175 passengers and 6 crew members, encountered a disaster shortly after takeoff. Initially, 28 fatalities were reported, but the latest information suggests that only 2 individuals on the plane are believed to have survived.

In the video, the aircraft makes a belly landing, sliding across the runway before crashing into a fence and catching fire. The plane reportedly experienced severe mechanical failure just before landing.

According to Yonhap, the ill-fated plane was operated by Jeju Air, a South Korean low-cost airline. The carrier primarily operates flights to Southeast Asia, with most of its fleet consisting of Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
