The world’s first crash of an unidentified flying object (UFO) happened in Italy in 1933 during the reign of Benito Mussolini, Italian researcher Roberto Pinotti claimed. Pinotti spoke to the Daily Mail and even shared evidence to back his claims.
If Pinotti’s claims are indeed true, they mandate a change in historical records, often referring to the 1947 incident at Roswell, New Mexico, as the first site of an alleged UFO crash for many decades. Pinotti is the president of the National Ufological Center in Italy, and his research has been met with skepticism within Italy itself.
Pinotti and his colleague have been working to learn more about the 1933 crash in Lombardy and received some “original secret documents” about it in 1996.
The documents were sent to the researchers by an unidentified source who claimed to have inherited them from a relative who lived at that time and was part of the secret department allegedly set up by Mussolini to study the saucer.
What do the documents show?
The documents shared by Pinotti with the Daily Mail include two telegrams sent in 1933. One demands “absolute silence” over the “alleged landing on national soil of unknown aircraft.” The other threatens to arrest and penalties for journalists reporting on news about the aircraft’s origin and nature.
Both these telegrams allegedly were sent on the personal orders of II Duce, none other than Mussolini himself. Another document sent to Pinotti refers to the ‘Gabinetto RS/33’, a mysterious department that the dictator allegedly set up to retrieve and study the wreckage of the spacecraft.
Pinotti and many others believe that Guglielmo Marconi, the inventor of the radio, was the head of RS/33, but other researchers have found no evidence of its existence so far.
The documents also include hand-written memos that have a sketch and description of the UFO with portholes on the side. Pinotti claimed that the wreckage was stored at an aircraft facility outside Magenta, a satellite town of Milan.
Where is the UFO now?
During World War II, the Allied Forces bombarded Italy, but the aircraft facility survived the raids and was secured by the Allied troops.
This account is eerily similar to one made by Pentagon whistle-blower David Grusch who recently claimed that the agents of the Office of Strategic Services, a former US intelligence agency, had recovered a bell-like craft from Magenta in 1944.
Pinotti, who only has the documents to prove its existence, verified them by a forensic expert and confirmed that the paper and the ink are indeed from the period. The telegrams have not been tested.
In a recent shuffle, the US government has decided to open up about alleged UFO sightings and set up the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) to investigate unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), the terminology used to encompass anomalous phenomena observed in the air, sea or land.
The Department of Defense has denied claims of any crash retrievals by the US.
